Frequently asked questions.

Do you accept health insurance? If so, which plans?

We are an Out-of-Network clinic, meaning that we do not have any direct contracts with insurance corporations. This is crucial to the outcomes we get because it allows us to provide one-on-one, hour-long sessions with the autonomy to decide what the best possible treatment options are without any limitations from what insurance decides to reimburse.

Why pay out-of-pocket when I have insurance benefits?

Insurance companies begin providing coverage once your deductible has been paid, which can require you to spend anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000. Physical therapy visits typically cost between $140-$250 even after paying your copay which is commonly around $35. Healthy individuals that rarely use the medical system or their health insurance plan will find that cash-based physical therapy often saves them money and gets them a much higher quality of service. Eliminating the insurance company can save money and give power back to the patient by allowing them to decide when they are healthy enough to stop physical therapy.

Insurance companies often view many performance-based services as “not medically necessary” and therefore will not provide coverage. Many of these “not necessary” services are crucial to getting athletes back to the level of performance that is required for their sport. These services bridge the gap between healthcare and long-lasting health and fitness by addressing the issues beyond getting patients back to the minimum baseline for physical therapy discharge.

How are we different?

Traditional physical therapy clinics have appointment slots that average around 30 minutes and the 1-on-1 time with your doctor during that visit is typically a percentage of that time.

We provide 60 minutes of dedicated time and attention to you with our Doctor of Physical Therapy. Our goal is to provide value by addressing your issue with specialized care. We work with you towards a real solution that makes the money you spend worthwhile. With fewer visits, we get you moving and performing better so you can get back to the activities you love.

What does it mean to be an out-of-network provider?

This means we are not contracted with health insurance companies and are able to give you the treatment you need without restriction. As an out-of-network provider, we offer our services without a third party determining what type of treatment you may receive and for how long you can be seen. This allows us to give you specialized, one-on-one care which results in better outcomes.

How do I pay for your services?

Even though this model is called cash-based you are not limited to cash payments. You may pay for services with cash, credit card, debit card, or using your pre-tax dollars in your Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA).

Can I submit a claim to my health insurance company for reimbursement?

Yes! If you wish to submit a claim, we are able to provide you with a “superbill” which details the treatment you receive from us. You are then able to submit this to your insurance company to potentially receive partial reimbursement for your visit. We do not submit claims on your behalf.

Do I need a referral from my physician?

You do not. Colorado is a direct access state, which means you can come directly to us without needing a prescription or referral. However, if you are planning on submitting a claim to your insurance company, you should check with them to see if they require a prescription prior to your first appointment.

I am a Medicare/Medicaid beneficiary, am I still able to be treated?

Unfortunately, as with other insurance companies, we do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. Due to restrictions, we are not able to provide physical therapy services to Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries, even if you are willing to pay out of pocket.

My physician wants me to go to physical therapy at a different location? Can I still see you?

Of course! Where you want to have physical therapy is always the decision of the patient, regardless of where you may be recommended to go.

What if I snowboard or I don’t ski, can you still help me?

Absolutely, we are trained to treat a variety of orthopedic and sport-related conditions. While skiing is a passion and focus of our practice, we welcome anyone who recreates in Colorado to come to experience our physical therapy services.
